With a background in Taekwondo as well as other styles of martial arts Charles Owens joined the Metropolitan Wushu Neijia Mind Boxing Club in 1975 under the late, Sifu Freddie McShan. First learning Yunan Boxing and practicing the extended Hsing-i discipline of Santi sitting. Later learning Tai Chi, Hsing-i and Bagua. He also learned Linear as well as Circular Bagua sets, Hsing-i animal sets and Yang style Tai-Chi as taught by Cheng Man-Ching. For the past fifteen years Mr. Owens has shared his skills at the DC. Recreation Department and has taught Taichi classes at Fort Duglas, Fort Stanton as well as Bald Eagle Recreation Centers.
